MacroVation explores comfort materials and mattress concepts for demanding environments, including shipboard use. The work connects material behavior, prototype design, and evaluation against application requirements.
Comfort cannot be separated from the environment in which a mattress is used. Our research considers the material, the supporting structure, and the service requirements as a connected design problem. Prototype and materials testing help determine which approaches merit further development.
